  • Blowing the dust off the CCD

Thought I found something slick to blow all the dirt out of the camera after a day on the ramp. Didn't get within 20 feet of the camera to figure out that this is a POS

    That looks scary...
Might be nice for the outside of the camera...

Mine seemed to work OK. CO2 means no liquid propellant or condensation coming out in the airstrea, and you can control the pressure.

My big problem is stuff on the sensor that needs to be wiped off. Now THATS scary!

      anybody got any favorites?

I can't get to the real website (I'm at work) but HERE is a review of the method I use. Works great for me. I've also used the Rocket Bulb on occasion, works fine for the larger, easier blown off, pieces of dust.

There wasn't enough air pressure to blow the nose of a mouse on this one. I figure that because it pokes a small hole in the cartridge then maintains the same small hole throughout the gun, there isn't enough volume to generate pressure at the tip. Plus, if you used it for more than a few seconds, the moisture it expelled built up rapidly because of the boil off of the contents. Not being an engineer I don't even know if there is a boil off of CO2 but that's the way it seemed to me. I'm thinkin I'll put the remaining cartridge in a gas powered BB gun that I haven't played with for years. Thanks Stevo for the info.
