Qualifying will end tomorrow at noon so they have another evening if they need it, which they may unfortunately. If they don't get a time by then, well let's not even talk about it. They will.
it doesn\'t matter if they qualify tomorrow or not RARA won\'t keep the bear grounded. Well I\'d be surprised if they did.
I\'m sorry, this is going to sound more harsh than intended, but son, RARA doesn\'t play favorites with anyone. Some crap about \'being uninvited\' from a few years ago aside, thats just a bunch of talk.
They don\'t care who does or does not make the field. I\'ve seen famous pilots with actual money paying sponsors be denied an opportunity to qualify because they showed up after the arrival deadline. I recall one year Mr. Destefani had to pit \"out back behind the $hitter$\" because he didn\'t get his entry fee in on time. He only was given a spot in the actual pits because someone withdrew.
If it was a matter of RARA \'not keeping the bear grounded\', they would just grandfather in all the hot planes and not even make them qualify at all.
Are they ever going to retry the three blade prop on the Bear???
TIA,
Lynn
I'm guessing probably not unless they are forced to by some strange anomoly with the 4-blade. They've said repeatedly (in response to "popular demand" for the 3-blade by the fans) that the 3-blade exhibits unfavorable gyroscopic tendencies when used on the pylon course.
My hope is that, if they ever have to go re-claim the 3km record, they might bolt on the 3-blader for that effort.

Red Bull has no earthly idea what "air racing" is.
