At 2:00pm today, Sport Class racer, Dave Morss of Race 99 "A.S.S." called a mayday on his practice run. With smoke filling the cockpit, Morss' first thought was to get the plane down safely. He recognized the 'acidic' smell as electrical and determined that the cause was circuitry for the rasing/lowering the spoilers on the plane. Dave, who had so many mayday's in the 2000 Air Races, earned the name "Mayday" Morss, landed the plane safely and without further inncident. Good job Dave!
