Bad timing.. still not completely sure we found the problem or solved it. 2 gigs of ram were added to the server overnight and as soon as they did that, I updated the vbulletin software to the latest version.. latest stable version. Unfortunately, it cost me a couple hundred to do it.. (donate button always appreciated.. if it's still on the forum that is!!)

This has thrown a huge wrench in my PRS plans.. As of the moment, got my room reserved but after spending the better part of a week trying to track down exactly what was going on with the server.. I'm totally not ready...

Hope this solves the problem! I know, it did fix a few of the bugs that were present in he old version..

Regarding you expenses to maintain this Forum, could not find "donation" button.

The "Make Donation" button is on the home page at the bottom of the right panel. Just sent in a small donation. Thank you Wayne for great board and playground for us junkies.

Still having huge issues, probably worse than yesterday. I've got a quote for a new server sitting in front of me but at the moment, I can't access the box reliably enough to even initiate a move.

I appreciate everyone's support.. if I can get this resolved in the next few hours, I'll leave for Reno. Way it looks right now, I'm going to spend the next few days in front of a computer terminal.. I am completely well and truly bummed beyond description....

We've been traveling lately and have been connecting via an AT&T 4G mobile hotspot. Now that we're connecting through a regular Wi-Fi connection, the problems have gone away. Went back to the hotspot and the problems returned (slow when able to connect, 502 bad gateway errors, etc...). Hope this helps.

Sky, I'd almost bet everything I own that it is NETWORK related and it's in the gateway to the DataCenter... Somewhere between some of us and the rest of the world.. I can not get the DC techs to believe this, however, because from where they are... things look OK.. Even looking at it by one of the DC staff via a VPN, away from the DC network, he's seeing things OK.... hell for me, right now, things are peachy!

I owe you guys a better connection than what we're getting... I owe the heritagetrophy.org site, which we've hosted since its inception a better deal... etc etc etc!

At the moment, since the server is over 5 years old, I am getting a new one provisioned as I type.. (almost same price, better ram, CPU and a huge backup drive to keep us going (everyone can upload lots of images!!) Personally, I don't handle issues like this well and I'm a freaking nervous wreck.. I should be better than half way to Reno right now and it's sort of in doubt if I can even go tomorrow... which means, I might as well not drive the 10 hours to get there....

I very much need to get hold of some chill pills right away!

A few of you have donated to the cause.. One of you EXTREMEMLY generously and I can't tell you the burdon that takes off me right now! You guys are what makes this all worth while... aww chit... I can't see the keyboard.. must have something in my eye...

It would be an honor to take you up on that Donald! I don't know if everyone has visited Will Whiteside's new site (though I did not design it, is also on this server ) you are listed very prominently as one of his sponsors, that young man has skills and energy that keep this sport alive.... I'm sure your help is instrumental in his successes!
