AFAIK, the 10 F2G corn-cobs built didn't offer the Navy sufficient performance advantage over the F4U-4..
[Which is - presumably - why they were released as surplus & available for the Cleveland Air Races].
The Corsair continued post-war development into F4U-5, & which the USN preferred over both the
F2G & F8Fs..
