When is PM leaving to head west?

Just curious when PM is leaving for the trip to Reno? Any word on Rare Bear? is it on the road yet? Thanks

RB was stuck in AZ over the long weekend due to Arizona's permitting regs. Guess they don't like moving wide/oversize loads on holiday weekends.

That's what I heard about Bear...Arizona requires a government escort for a wide load. Not available on a holiday.

Concerning PM...Thom informed me that he will fly out of Kissimmee tomorrow, with a planned arrival at Stead on Friday.

according to their Facebook page the race motor failed during a ground run. They are trying to get a ferry motor running to at least get there

You're in the know with all of this Precious Metal info. What engine did you guys race with last year? This years ferry engine?

Last year's engine is complete. Only a few small parts had been transferred off of it to complete the installation of the new race engine (a bolt here, a fitting there, etc). It remained assembled, so it should be fairly straight-forward to put it back in place and get it running. For the last week or so everybody has been working crazy long hours already, with some 24 hour days being pulled. Hopefully a re-installation of the older engine won't be too challenging overall, so she can at least attend the event.

I'm on the wrong coast, or I'd volunteer to pitch in. Never hurts to have more 250-lb. guys around when doing the heavy stuff.

I'm with Al! I just told Thom that if I was in Florida, I'd be there, even if it was to make coffee runs! Without sounding too much like a Californian, I'm focusing all of my positive energy towards that crew!! You know they're working their tails of and are going to need it!!
