You could pretty much start an Air Racing Museum with that book alone...
Here's a thread that's worth discussing...of the collectors on this site, who has historical items in their collection and what is historical about them?
Should be interesting to see how much Air Racing history is still out there.
Also, I notice the occasional mention by people who are looking for old Programs from back in the day. I've seen quite a few in the good Antique shops on Virginia Street, south of the downtown area.
I'm surprised the owners don't have them on E-bay and are paying the overhead on their collections.
I just wanted to add that Randy, you are very wise to tell us about the item AFTER you've won it! This goes for everyone. Don't tell us BEFORE the auction closes..... very important.
Great idea Randy! I would give a big "thumbs up" to adding a page for collectors. It would give us something to do on the off-season when news is slow.
While we're on the subject. I keep Unlimited air racing results on my computer and I use the signature of winning pilots. I need two more. Ken Burnstine and Chuck Lyford. Does anyone have anything signed by these guys or know how I can get in touch with Mr Lyford? All I need is a copy of a signature. If anyone can help I will send them a copy of any of the books I have done.
