Ironically that's about the location of the stock gun camera on a stock F8F. Lyle actually had to remove that during the initial build in 1969. So another step closer to the factory build.

And if they remove the Boiloff bladders they could re-install the guns..................

Would make lapping them decidedly unpleasant..............

As of spring 2012 the No2 was not needed as the airframe was so clean that full (dry) power would have exceeded critical mach.

That being said I would not be surprised if the No2 returned............
