Great news, the Collings Foundation gave Reno/Stead a second chance after the mess the airport authority created on their last visit.

The B17, B24 and P51 Betty Jane will be here, not sure on the B25. Their sounds and presence will grace our skies June 4-6.

They will be down in Minden on June 2-3, just prior to their stop at Stead. Stop by there, take a ride and say hello to the Minden Ops Manager, Chris. You can tell him his little brother was plugging his event for him!

I could be wrong, but it seems like the insurance (or lack thereof) prevented them from selling any rides? Some kind of liability issue?
Or was it an issue with the fire tanker base?
Can't recall for sure. Maybe someone else can help?
But I do seem to remember they were prohibited by some reason, after they showed up at Stead.

There was a story in the Reno Gazette Journal. It's something along this line.

The Collings Foundation had a agreement with the airport authority, including the necessary insurance coverages.
They we're here for one day, made flights and open for tours.

Then on day 2 there was a issue with the airport authority coming up and saying they need to have higher liability coverage??

Of course the airport authority person in charge wouldn't stand behind the original agreement???

The Collings Foundation had no choice other than cancel and give refunds for paid day 2 and 3 flights.

They packed up and flew to their next airport venue.

I think we have resolved the issues that presented themselves last year. The 25, 24, 17, and 51 will be at both Minden and Stead. Really cool to have 4 aircraft to display. Everyone close should stop and say hello.
