On Tuesday November 25, 2003 the EAA 1903 Wright Flyer replica crashed. The accident damaged the canard and some minor portions of the forward fuselage.
Terry Queijo the pilot of the rare replica claims that just after lifting off the EAA replica Wright Flyer "it pitched down and impacted the ground hard enough to crack a number of the wing struts, completely destroying the skids" (landing gear).
Aircraft builder Ken Hydes and his crew are allready working on the repairs and claim to have it airworthy prior to the 100th Anniversary at the Wright Brothers National Memorial that is to take place in December.
