That was my first year at Reno and I haven't missed one since then. Maybe it's just a case of the first is the best, but in my opinion, that still is the greatest weekend of Unlimited Gold racing I've seen.

Dreadnought and Tsunami cutting it in nice and tight on the phone poles. They both flew wider in 91 in other heats and the gold-right over head. Many belated thanks to John and Mary Dornstauder for letting us camp out in their front yard during those years, the best seats in the house.
