What a surprise. Their schedule still says "open", but my buddy just told me they are coming.

Low and behold the Minden-Tahoe airport website confirms this great news.

My same thoughts when I heard about it. I said no way, its just a small rural community. However the valley/mountains are beautiful. Just seems odd to make a appearance at a small venue. I'm not complaining though - I'll be there for sure.

Its like the "Blue Angels" coming to St. George,Utah twice now with Las Vegas & Salt Lake City nearby plus no really big crowds on Sunday.

I'll just chime in here real quick.

Chris Johnson is the airport operations manager at Minden. He's also my older brother.

As an aviation lover I'm thrilled to see the world's most famous demonstration team coming to Minden. As a brother I couldn't be more proud! Chris and Bobbi were able to pounce when the opportunity presented itself because they were prepared and ready. Well done to both of them!

The whole Johnson clan are a great group of people. They are big supporters of the air Races, so go support their show if you can! I'd be there in a heart beat if I wasn't half way across the country.
