Sorry left it in the Hotel room. But I am sure it said West and North of "the Airport", and showed a picture of a plane...

I didn't think they had previously closed for June.. But I could very well be wrong about that.

Public lands adjacent to and north of Reno-Stead Airport will be temporarily closed to the public for portions of June and September.

The closures, which happen every year, will be in place due to activities related to the Reno National Championship Air Races, the Bureau of Land Management’s Carson City District-Sierra Front Field Office announced in a statement.

Each June, the Reno Air Racing Association holds its Pylon Racing School in June, an event where rookie and returning pilots can qualify to compete in the Air Races. This year’s PRS will close the public lands June 17-20.

The same areas will also be closed Sept. 16-20 for the 52nd annual Air Races.

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Department and Reno Police Department will work in coordination with the BLM to patrol the closed areas, which are designed to ensure a safety perimeter within the race course area.

Pretty Sure

I'm pretty sure that the reason they are now officially closing the areas is due to FAA waiver agreements. In past years, it was sort of "unofficially" closed. There were almost always kids on dirt bikes out there when media was escorted out to the "closed" area.

Completely unsure if media will get out this year or not. But again, the official closure is most likely part of the waiver.
