Years ago, their was a Mustang Club at Oakland, I believe they were at Tracy for awhile too. A friend of mine belonged to it, I remember it was $60 an hour to fly it. I don't know remember the cost to join........of course avgas back then was probably around 40 cent a gallon too.

And not to forget, the paint job it wore prior to the white/ blue one.
I still remember the carb air scoop from N511D hanging in Roy Mabee's hangar at Chino some 25 years ago. That was my introduction to him at the time.
Are the photos of the 51 and T-6 shot at Van Nuys?

I can remember back when they were operating from San Jose Muni, from a tarmac between runway 30R and the main taxiway.
The civilian paint jobs are still the best.remember the Oogahonk!
