They were always good for loading film on a windy day, remembering to put the lid down.

Didn't your mother ever tell you not to hang out behind the SaniHut?

I'm still happy to look at that picture thought. It's gorgeous. Well, except for that middle part.

I wonder what kind of progress they're making on their F-82 racer? Or was that Team Wang? I lose track after so much time....

^^^Wasn't there some theoretical discussion of how the Team SaniHut F-82 would be set up? I'm sure it was all in jest but, pilot in port fuse with race consumables in starboard fuse? Would you eliminate the starboard canopy in favor of aerodynamics? Would that help it turn left? Clipped wings? Yes or no?

Did the CAF ever get their hands on a set of props for theirs, if they even have it anymore?

Didn't it get repainted and put on display at the NMUSAF? I remember the "fuss" about who "owned" the plane. There is a thread about it somewhere. It left Midland not long after I finally got to see it.

Is that where the CAF broke the terms of the agreement?

My recollection is the problem started when the CAF tried to sell (or trade?) it to someone else. Wasn't Tom Cruise involved in this somehow too?

Tom put some money in towards it's restoration which was never completed. The CAF traded the twin Mustang and the wreckage of their old P-38 for an airworthy P-38. That's the the USAF got involved and took it back. The CAF fought them through several court cases, then the some senators started threatening to allow the USAF to take FIFI back and the CAF admitted defeat.

I believe the actual quote from the guy in charge of the Air Force Museum was "How do you feel about that B-29 of yours?"
