I was thinking that a standard Valdez type STOL competition could go over pretty well at Reno, possibly better than the slalom event they did this year. We've got the fast end of the spectrum covered, might as well cover the low speed end also.

The founder High Sierra Fly-in, Kevin Quinn had his plane at the air races on display.

Nice guy, and we talked a bit about getting a short STOL event mixed in with the Reno Air Race show performances.

He stated he has been trying get "in" with the RARA people for such an event at the races.

We may have to help him out

STOL at Reno would be awesome. It could start as an exhibition between races. I think they would have to land on the ramp for it to be worth it, in other words so the crowd can see.
