Hope so. Though it is fun to watch Strega race through heats.....when the canopy stays on....

Maybe they just want a nice clear course so they can post a 505?

Voodoo left a lap open for tomorrow, I imagine in case Strega puts up a faster lap. The weather for session 2 doesn't sound as good as earlier or tomorrow, we shall see

A little bit slower, but nothing significant. Unless Strega or Voodoo breaks, or Sawbones installed NOS during the off season, I'd say that's a safe bet.

Strega went up in the 2nd session and did one lap around 438 (timed with my average speed phone app, so nothing official) He never called for the clock. There was lightning on the west side of the course and rain on the field just as he touched down. He'll probably go up again tomorrow.

With the weather being as cool and humid as it is, I don't think we will be seeing anyone go 490 for qualifying unless something changes. The air is just too dense. Voodoo's time will likely be the benchmark. In years past when we have seen crazy fast qualifying speeds its been hot and dry. This year, not so much. That said, we might see some vapor off the wingtips or something interesting like that. (Might not be fast enough for that.)

Hopefully Full Noise will get their engine changed. Talk about bad luck. They have a fresh race engine built and it doesn't even make it to qualifying. Bummer.
