  • Who's SNJ/T-6 was that?

Hey this one's not a Mustang.
This was taken at Compton in Dec. 1957.

    Vic,
I couldn't find this one in my usual refrence books, so I had to go another route. I checked out the FAA history project web site and that made it alot easier. I was able to cross refrence the military serial number and the manufacturs numbers and found out why I couldn't find it. That registration number isn't listed! In fact that N-number now belongs to a Piper PA-28 in the midwest. It does appear that at one time this SNJ-4 did indeed have that registration number, even though it's not listed in any historical manuals. Now that THAT'S out of the way:

North American SNJ-4 (the CAF has it listed as a "-5")
    88-09450
    Bu09935
    Previous NC367 CAA Washington D.C,
    N2838D Unknown owner
Now (since 1963) N101X Various owners, Confederate Air Force, American Airpower Heritage Museum - Midland, TX.
