Dr. Phil Coussens at one time owned Grumman F8F-2 Bearcat N1111L. While Phil was kept busy by the ever-increasing demands of his medical practice, the Bearcat was not flown much and eventually reached the point of needing a fair amount of attention to make airworthy. In 1964, Doc was approached by Darryl Greenamyer about fixing up the Bearcat and entering the upcoming revival of Unlimited Air Racing in Reno. Phil agreed and the rest is history.
