Headed down in the motorhome on Thursday the fifth.. overnighting at the casino parking lot just north of K Falls, then unless I goofed, we spend first night at RENO in the RV lot at Sparks Marina and RV Park. No Way BeerNazi or our kitties could manage dry camping for the length of time we'd be there... so I'll commute from there..

Most definitely!

The motorhome is in central Oregon getting its annual maintenance. We'll hop in the WRX on Tuesday of race week and start heading south. We'll pick up the motorhome after hours and tow the car into Reno on Wednesday morning. We're staying in the Optimist RV lot this year.

We've got two spots, one for the motorhome and one for the camper. Our son and daughter-in-law will be driving in with the camper overnight on Thursday, since that's the time off that my son could get. We've got about a dozen other people (that we've introduced to air racing) that will be joining us as well. One family will be staying in their motorhome next to us, and a few others will be staying locally and driving in each day.

Nothing like staying out at Stead in the evenings, but if you can't stay there, you picked a nice RV park.

Heading out on the road from San Diego next Friday @ 0500 with my buddy (Deputy Chief Judge) like we've done for years. Gonna blast straight thru to RNO, pick up my rental car, check in to Nugget then head out to KRTS.

Usually we stop for the night in Bridgeport, go fishing in Twin Lakes for a bit (STILL haven't caught anything!), then head to Reno but the schedule doesn't cooperate this time.

Finishing touches on race/show schedule still in work and that will be the case throughout the week. Like we say in the airshow biz, the schedule is final on Monday!

Once again, we gather in the high desert of Nevada to breathe the sweet aroma of sage and Avgas, enjoy the brisk mornings with the Dawn Patrol, see old friends again and make a few new ones....

Owen, curious the reason for the Jet Class heats being set up the way they are. First with 14 entries, does the bronze have to do something with purse distribution? And then no Gold heat on Friday..?

Just got the last of my passes last night thanks to my son so all is ready. Time off scheduled.
While I miss staying on site which I did for YEARS, it IS nice to sit in the backyard, in the pool, drink in hand in the evenings. I miss what's going on down low but everything else has to fly over or near.

Owen, curious the reason for the Jet Class heats being set up the way they are. First with 14 entries, does the bronze have to do something with purse distribution? And then no Gold heat on Friday..?

Can't speak to the purse issue as I'm not close to that in any regard.

Jet's and T-6 both get 11 events, vice the 12 for the rest. So on Friday, both T-6 and Jet Alpha stand down. It's a time thing as well.

Started working on the Tent trailer today got 3 days to get the hardware together, Tow rig was last week.
Next Friday 6th[off] go shopping, Leave 4:00AM Sat7th from Brentwood, Arrive Red Rock & Lemmon mid morning set-up camp pop first beer of Reno2019 Wahoo!
First came to Reno in 1976 Wife says I'm addicted, I say she's right!

Ditto - very eager to head back to Stead. My work schedule has changed a few times, but now planning on arriving the morning of the 10th.

Not yet packed (two more trips at work yet), but the inventory of things to take is done - it gets easier each year. About the only thing I need to replenish is the tequila (always Patron).

I'm going to ride up next Saturday to watch some of the tech inspections and start getting that Reno feeling. I'll be up again the following Friday to set up camp at St. Michael's (35th year!) and to get my yearly infusion of noise and speed, Reno Style!
My wife is bringing our 2-year-old grandson up on Saturday, and he'll camp out with us and go inside on Sunday. This will be his 3rd time, and he's already asking me about seeing the fast airplanes. I am a lucky guy!
