Lots of recent history has taken place at that airfield. That is where John Sandberg planned to set the FIA Unlimited 3km speed record for propeller/piston airplane with Tsunami.
Also, Will Whiteside flying Steadfast at Wendover set FIA 3km speed record of 669.5 km/hr [416 mph] on October 11, 2011 for weight class C-1d 1750kg to 3000kg [3858 lbs to 6613 lbs]. This was the first of 9 FIA records that Will set with Steadfast over the next six months.
