    Re: More "Name Those Bearcats"

    The year would be 1973.

Bearcat #8 is the late John Herlihy's "Sweet P". (Formerly the "Tom's Cat/Miss Priss" of Walt Olrich, and later as the Whittington Bearcat and last seen as Bill Anders' "Wampus Cat")

The Cat in the background is Mike Smith's #41. (Which won the 1964 Reno race with Mira Slovak as Miss Smirnoff, and was lost in about 1980 when Chub Smith--no relation--flew into a thunderstorm. Mike Smith later bought "Tipsy Miss" from Jack Sandberg, and ran her at Reno '79 as "What Price Speed?")

1973 Reno the bare colored cat is John Herlihy (recently killed in a T-28 crash) and Mike Smith is the white Bearcat. This Bearcat crashed in Georgia in the late 70s killing pilot Chub Smith editor of the Knoxville Times.

Thanks for the quick answer Brad. So is this attached photo the ex-Whitington Boys Bearcat? I took this one in 88. I also just came to the realization today that I have quite a few representative photos of Bearcats, not all the same. hmmmmm. That gives me an idea
