As of today, here's the breakdown of the number of registered racers per class:
Biplane: 19
F1: 16
T6: 16
Sport: 36
STOL: 25
Jets: 18
UNL: 16
I have no idea who has registered in each class, just the totals.
Now, if we can just catch a break with the weather/fires. More than anything for 2021, that is what concerns me most. It wreaks havoc on schedule Mon-Wed as BLM Fire Base Op's at KRTS are priority traffic which requires us to suspend all action on the race course (place racers in the Hold, delay taxiing, etc.) while we launch the bombers. If the fire is close to KRTS, the turn times can be so short that it makes it very challenging to get folks qualified.
And once the BLM Ops have moved out of KRTS (contractually obligated to reposition after Wed noon of Race Week), the issue becomes visibility.
Keep you finger crossed the weather and fire gods give us a break...
