Alan Hoover turning a tight knife-edge pylon turn trying to shave off micro-seconds to try to get around Jeffrey Lo in Saturday's 2021 Silver Biplane race
Jeff and Alan had 4 of the closest races of the week. Good show in the early morning. No crowds, sit wherever you want, no lines for beer.
Man I wish those would display with a link to full size.. as I've pointed out before you can right click and open in new tab and get full size image.. Will, your stuff is spectacular! Your balance of shutter speed and steady hand are amazing! Composure of shots, stellar.
What more can I say!
On the road in motorhome, limited Internet access at times, checking in when I can...
Good stuff. I'm pretty prejudiced against the STOLs, but Kenn's photographs makes them look good. Nice to see a Christen Eagle racing -- that color scheme looks pretty good with the smoke. The last biplane shot with Jeff Lo is a classic...

I didn't understand the attraction until watching some of Trent Palmer's videos and then the livestream of this year's event. Something different from rounding pylons but no less skilled. There was some impressive handling this year!

Pretty much felt the same way until watching this year's streaming coverage..
Being a non-pilot... yes, scum bag ink thrower!! LOL! You've met my neighbor and best buddy Allen (Bonanza "survivor" in the Heritage a few years back) He really liked the STOL stuff.. He's an instructor and made his living as such for a while, from what I gathered, it was just interesting/entertaining to him watching the pilots deal with the challenges from moment to moment.. I'd have to admit, watching the online coverage drew me in..
