It's not about the profit-making. To your point, been around a long time.
It's the manipulation of the information and the arbitrary silencing of speech that's the issue. Whether you're red or blue, right of left, black or white, etc., should all take pause at the thought. FB, et al, are no longer just social media platforms (the term "social media" is laughable on its face), by virture of their own policies and procedures they are content creators, editing content for consumption is by definition, content creating.
Turn the argument around. What stops them from live streaming pornography for example? Same thought process that stops them from allowing a former president from posting but permits the Taliban to play in that same sandbox?
Now, back to our regular programming...
