I like the fact that it looks DIFFERENT. There's just not a lot of variety in aircraft these days, other than military fighters as stealthy shapes are explored. All airliners look generally like a 707, all airlifters look generally like a C141 or C-130.
But it sure looks like the wing was an afterthought....
No doubt, and if you look carefully the C-141, C-5, C-130, and C-117 are all similar in that the wing spar skims the top of the fuselage. But the way the wing is (or more accurately ISN'T) faired into the fuse on the C-133 gives it a peculiar look like it was glued on with a huge daub of RTV silicone... or maybe hot-melt glue...

I'm not an engineer but I imagine they did it that way so the wing carry-through structure didn't enter the cargo area so the whole cargo hold was a uniform size.
