Flight Journal= Jan Tegler Doing a FANTASTIC job!

I honestly don't know how he does it! Since my first opportunity to help Jan Tegler, son of the late, LEGENDARY GREAT, John Tegler with photos for an article about the Rare Bear, Jan continues to throw out articles of interest to the sport of National Championship Air Racing. Current issue has the story of Hoot Gibson's time with Mike Keenum's Hawker Sea Fury known as 'Riff-Raff'

Special thing about this particular issue is, Jan managed to dig out Neal and Birgitta Nurmi who provided photos for the latest issue of Flight Journal..

I and others were sincerely worried about Neal and Birgitta..

I suppose Neal is done with me and this site?? and not responding to any attempts to connect.. I know we have always had discussions I totally thought we'd talked the last one out.

Anyway, good work Jan on both articles in that issue!! (I may be mixed up, my magazines were held up while I was traveling) but really, thanks for keeping the torches burning!!

For anyone who's curious, the story I did with Hoot (now out in in the May/June issue of Flight Journal) actually covers an adventure he had in the Sea Fury before it was known as "Riff Raff". When Mike Keenum, Hoot and the crew were preparing to race at Reno initially the airplane was known as "Wright Up Front".

And it looked quite different...
