We spoke with them in the pits today. It's not just an original P51A, but it is the oldest flying P51 in existence. It is Allison powered. The Allison is a down-draft carb, so the intake is on top of the cowl. Merlins are an updraft carb, with the intake on the bottom of the cowl.
It's been fully restored and is simply a beautiful airplane. It has raced at Reno before the restoration. At that time, it was known as Polar Bear.

Bummer! Are you able to run off your car battery? I had a little more time and just ran one through a quick pass in CS2 with auto levels and this is what it came up with... once you have some time with the smoky stuff in post, you will be lots happier I think!!

I was in the pits editing, I had the charger, I didn't have a power source till I got back to camp. Here at camp, I have power, but lack a flat surface for my mouse. (I'm still kicking myself for leaving my trackball on my desk.) I'll try and come up with something so I can use a mouse.
Thanks to everyone for the pics. Who owns the Sea Fury with the blue spinner? Will is killing it with the prop blur on the pedal car.......plane. Thanks again, Kevin.
