Curtiss Wright Demon..an enigma ?

Here is a pic of the rare small fighter.
I think it has same hallmarks as the NXT.

What is your opinion ? Sadly the only 3 Demon 21B:s hit a mountain en route to Flying Tigers in far east.

That could have been the tool to win a Zero in 1938..we'll never know.

Its funny that that picture should come up today, I watched a old Errol Flynn movie last night, It was called Dive Bomber, made in 1941, It had a Curtiss wright Demon in it. You saved me a lot of time trying to find out what that plane was. Thanks

Really I don't recall that ..are you 100% sure...there are a few planes alike that too..lesser seen. Let me think...Vultee P-66 Vanguard..that is a bit similar too, but built in large numbers.

Nope wasnt either one of those aircraft, Dig up the movie, it was near the end of the movie, It was unusual enough to peek my interest, I havent seen one of those aircraft before.

I will dig up the movie..I think I have seen it too..see we finns love american movies...and oldies run here without dubbing.
So you are not 100% sure which plane it was..or was it a Demon ?

How about P-35 Seversky..we nearly bought those before Winter War in 1939..instead we bought Fokker DXXI:s since we got 3 of those in the price of one Seversky.

The movie was made in1939 and the P66 first was flown in feb 1940, the mod 48 was a trainer and it wasn't the plane in the movie I was talking about.

How about Change-Vought V-143 pretty much like P-66 with a more simple glazing in the cockpit ?

the cw21b was in service with the neiaf in java early in the war it was badly mauled by zeros.
