So downdraft carbs... Where was the intake in Vendetta? NASA inlet on top like Miss Ashley II? It doesn't show in the photos.

Yes, it was a NACA intake atop the cowling, ala MAII and the early Tsunami.

Since I'm not registered, it took a while for my post to show up, and one with the correct Vendetta guess didn't show up at all. I guess that's what I get for lurking all the time and never registering.

I was trying to think of all the other airplanes that have raced at Reno that would have had downdraft carbs on a Merlin. Here's what I came up with, can anybody else add or correct this list?

The A-26 belong to Pete Rivera, I may have the first name wrong and He owned a few T-28's also. Man have'nt talk to him in about 20 years.
