Spell checker

I've noticed that I can't use the spell checker from IE on my mac. It just hangs IE and I have to force quit. I don't have this problem if I enter the site using Netscape.

Has anyone else observed this problem and fixed it?

Works in IE from my PC... even tested it just to make sure.

I've got both so am not throwing any stones. I will confess a sentimental bias for the mac as I lived in the same dorm with Steve Wozniac and Steve Jobs at Berekeley. I like the Mac better for video editing and the PC better for e-mail, word excel, etc. No surprise that the microsoft stuff works better on a PC.

Really just wondering if anyone else had seen a compatability problem. I asume this site is hosted on gates OS machine. True?

Nope... Linux...

This is exactly the problem that I see with the Mac computer. It's a fine machine but, most of the world is on PC's and most software is written for the PC... The spell check "hack" is something that someone worked up for free as an add on to the "paid for" forum that many peeps use.. (this one)

The folks who wrote the hack prolly never thought of using MAC...

Now, it makes me wonder though, why it will not work on the mac since this check is all done "server side".. there is no process happening on your machine so, why it hangs is a mystery to me. I'll ask on the forum where I find this stuff tho..

You can do what I used do sometimes do tho... copy your message over to your email program, spellcheck in a new message, then copy it again and paste it back to here...

Nope... Linux...

Interesting, particularly since the Mac is UNIX under the covers.

Non need to write in word and paste into the site. I just need to remember to use Netscape instead of IE. Netscape works fine.
