What a site to see this afternoon at Stead. The crew from P of F, The Bob Pond Museum,Vicky Brenzy all flew down from Chino. The sound is a one a kind and for them all to be on the deck was the cherry onto the ice cream
As of tonight all but Speedball, Sparky/Blondie, and the H model are at Stead for the Unlimited group. Seems like that Nut Tree crew will head over together in the AM.
Some cool notes, the P-40 has the water tank in the backseat and capped off gun ports - I think that's the first time I've seen a P-40 with capped gun ports.
Miss Marvel's "69" font is exactly like Georgia Mae's. The plane looks pretty sweet.
Both the Yaks look (and sound) amazing.
Glad to have some really beautiful stockers like Lady Jo and Swamp Fox on the ramp as well.
And lastly, not racing but one of the highlights was Bernie Vasquez unexpectedly bringing the freshly restored razorback Republic P-47D 'Bonnie'. I would assume Thunderbird will still make it's way over next week.
Gonna be some FANTASTIC racing from Bronze to Gold, along with some really nice statics mixed in.
