We are in the final stages of resolving the issues with the forums move to the new location. After talking with tech support, the only solution was to send him a copy of all the images. This will take time - but we know the fix SO it's only a matter of time now.

It was the Ultimate that got crunched in a night airshow. Sort of settled in during a low (verrryyy low!!!) inverted pass. Great light show though. Don't know what happened to the Hyperbipe; assumed it was sold when Joann got the Ultimate.

As for the Hyperbipe, it was love at first sight for me. A great Sorell (sp?) design with good looks and all around performance.

Here is one very nice example of a HyperBipe that showed up at our EAA 1112 fly-in in Oroville, CA in '03. It was owned by Mr. Hal Thomas and was for sale at the time.

The HyperBipe is a nice looking airplane. I can't recall if I've ever actually seen one in person.....maybe ages ago at Oshkosh or Rockford. Does anyone know how the performance of the HyperBipe compares to a Pitts of the same vintage? Just curious. And wondering why you don't see too many HyperBipes these days. I would guess that they never got to high numbers of production?

Probably because it's like sitting in a refrigerator box with slots cut in it, not great on visibility.
Performance wise, it did a pretty good airshow, sides of the fuselage made an airfoil, so knife-edge stuff was pretty impressive...

Harry Barr out of Lincoln, NE still has his HyperBipe/Hiperbipe.
He still brings it to local Airports around Nebraska and gives non-compensated aerobatic shows with it.
He is picking mine up for me next week. This is a great design that deserves to be remembered for its striking looks and equally good cross country capability as its breath taking aerobatics capability.
