Camping sites around Stead?

Hello Everyone, new to this forum but can use help / info on where to camp around Stead.

We use to camp just outside of the gate adjacent to the F-1 hangars. The site was free, primitive but good for a overnighter. I understand the area has now been fenced off at the road.

Tried also to to get internet info but came up zero.

Any site info for RV's, tents, etc is appreciated.

Stead Camping

Tent spaces rent for around $17.00 a night. If you don't mind a
short wait, there are showers on the premise. They also have a
harty breakfast every morning to etc. I'd say you are no
further then 500ft away from the front gate.

Camping

We always camp out off Red Rock Road. Go up to Lemmon Drive and turn right on the dirt road, about a quarter mile down to the fence line.
Lots of acreage to camp on.
Do it before they close it.

Every year we worry about them closing it, but it's still BLM land. And we are going to camp there till they turn us away...

We,re that roudy bunch they like to brag about up in the tower....
