  • Las Cruces 2024

The Las Cruces Air and Space Expo is proud to host the ONLY pylon air race of 2024, and it's coming to you LIVE with all the high-speed action you won't want...

As some of you will remember, Brian Murray did a livestream from the VOS last year. He is going to be doing a livestream for us in Las Cruces this year. Qualifying is Friday afternoon and then races on Saturday and Sunday. Schedule

I really am super excited about next weekend. One of the things I love to go after as an engineer is “that’s the way we’ve always done it”. And the class has done a thorough job on addressing that question in just about every way. From the business model, working to make things cost neutral for teams, the course design, pylon design, scoring and timing (with the ultimate goal of actual lap times for every race), reducing the number of pylon judges, etc.

I wish I could make it, but I'm racing myself.

Good luck to everyone racing, whatever they might be racing.

I really wish I could be there, but I'll be on the wrong side of the country. Hopefully there will be pictures posted here?

Doesn't sound like anyone else on AAFO is going. Tom Wilson will be there from Kitplanes Magazine. He always had lots of good articles during Reno. So check their website for updates throughout the week.

Unrelated. but I'm looking for pictures of David Cronin's race#1 Glassair iii (raced from 1998 to 2000 I think)

Been doing a Sport Class countdown to Las Cruces and he seems to be the only person to race with that number

David & his Glasair was at the PRS Reno '99... caught him after one of his flights that week.
(race number wasn't on the plane though)

I see a sponsorship opportunity there. Looking at that picture, I feel the need...the need for SUNGLASSES!!!

Funny you should mention a sunglasses sponsorship

                            Double rainbow this afternoon.

Andy, James, Sean all went up for test flights.

Definitely has a similar “echo” to Reno with all the surrounding mountains.
