Jet Racing Revisited

Well the world of Jet Racing might be in for a turnaround. Last month we talked about RARA dropping the class for 2006, a prediction that turned out to be true per conversation with Mike Hougton and press release on airrace.org website.

We're now getting word that the jets may be back in the schedule for this year...

Reading the PR at airrace.org and pondering the content of our conversation with RARA's CEO last month, the part containing "no L-39 jet racing" stands out.

If our sources prove to know their stuff, expect an announcement from RARA soon...

I would like to see MIG's! The best jet race I have ever seen was the demo. The (Tomcat?) flying around the pylons was also really cool.

This would be fantastic! Finally a real world, head-to-head test of all those amazing VLJ claims.

Raburn will never go for it. According to B&CA, the Eclipse has about 50% more drag than predicted.

I'm thinkin' I can manage to keep it within those limits around the course and still turn in a respectable speed. Lookin' for a co-pilot?

Actually, I had a Type Board Meeting with the FAA yesterday concerning our latest modification project.

We should have the prototype flying in about 90 days..............this will be the plane to race with.............I'll keep ya posted!

Edited - down to 90 days, if it took me 120 days I probably wouldn't be employed much longer!
