Harra's P-82

I remember as a kid the Harra's collection had a P-82 on display. Does anyone know what ever happened to it?

I believe the Harrah's collection had a Ford Tri-Motor and a P-40 on display. Dont recall ever viewing or hearing about a P-82 Twin Mustang there. But I have been wrong before?

Yep I remember that. I was about 5 or so but I remember my father and I having a "moment" over it.

As any of you who know me.. know... I'm not much of a "historian" but...

The former Harrah's Tri-Motor has sort of a "personal" connection..

My brother (he's here on the board once in a while) worked on the carcass way back when.....

It languished in a field somewhere "south of the border" for quite a while, history beyond that, unknown to this mechanic's brother..

Eventually, it wound up with the Evergreen Aviation Museum collection where it is to this day.

I doubt it flies much these days but when I lived in Portland, it was regularly seen BLARING its nasty sound across the dreary NW sky!

Maybe the P-82 was actually a P-38?
I just dont recall any of the Twin Mustangs being in the museum there.

If so, I suppose that's where team "Double Threat" came up with theirs?

I'm not trying to shoot you down but, I gotta. They had a P-82 Twin Mustang. That is where I got my mild fascination with the Twin. Apparently FNG and I are about the same age as I was about 5yo when my granfather took me there. This was the only piece out of that whole collection I even remember but, its like it was yesterday. It's the only one I've ever seen in person.

There are 5 Twin Mustangs listed on the warbird registry.

44-65162, 44-65168, 44-83887, 46-256 and 46-262

Don't think ANY of these were in the Harrah's collection.

Perhaps when Sani Hut got ahold of "Double Threat" he had all records of the airframe destroyed.

Well hell, I know I'm not crazy. Perhaps it was not registered to Harrah. Who would he have known that had an 82? Perhaps it was only there for a short time and FNG and I happened to see it while it was there.

So without a data plate it's a replica right?
