Not to mention the rampant political correctness in the UK that makes assimilation even harder. You've got imams wishing to implement elements of sharia law that conflict with English law. That would be the death of the culture right there! It should be: "Our country, our rules!" If you want to keep your laws, go back to where you came from.

A society can be multi-ethnic, but there has to be one culture, one language. Otherwise, you reap what you sow.

I agree 100% My motto is FIFO.....fit in or F off! Plain and simple. Don't even start with the political correctness. Thats a world of problems all on it's own, all in the name of keeping peace and happiness. Destination unknown...but this planet is heading there fast!

            Thanks for that one Tim!

My family history is wrapped up in that one. My grandfather was born to Germans who came to South Dakota from Russia. He spoke German at home and went off with plenty of others like him to Europe in WWII. Hell, even my dad knows plenty of Schwabian dialect Deutsch.

When you read a book like "Citizen Soldiers" you'll see plenty of German surnames and most of them are G.I.'s not Wehrmacht.

            Concisely put. Well played!!!

Sooner or later everyone's got to give something up. My great grandfather had to give up church services in German during WWI. My dad's high school mascot in Bowdle, SD was the "Cossacks." This was a nod to the Russian/German heritage of the townspeople. But of course, that had to be changed to the less offensive "Bobcats" during the Cold War.

              T Adams,
That piece on hyphonated Americans was great. How come nobody talks like that in the national spotlight? PC has run amuck for sure. You get a politician speaking in those words today publicly and I bet he or she would be hailed a hero. On my route I know the majority of the people would support a politician with that kind of a thought process. Where are the guts and fortitude today in politics? God please help this country..

If I recall right they got fired at when exposing themselves to get over that 12 feet fence. Some got multible gunshot wounds and still managed to escape..some then injured themselves more while falling uncontrolled into the ground.

The reason why they want to flee Africa is persecution, famine and draught, lack of medication ( and education ) and poor standart of living.

                  Things in Africa ain't good.

Juke, I hear what you saying, but you have to remember that a lot of these problems were created by themselves because of their culture, their own people and their governments! Fair enough the white man got a huge slice of the pie from Africa and I can understand that there is resentment towards the white race in some African counties. A lot of powerful countries are trying to rectify the problems that were created by our for-fathers, but I can tell you know that it won’t happen in my life time or my children’s! Education is the key to success in Africa but it doesn’t mean they will be ok once they educated. I believe if you give a man a fishing line and teach him how to fish, then there wont be any need to feed him the fish (if you know what I mean). Look at Robert Mugabe, one thee most educated black men in Africa...and what trouble is he's country in now? You can talk the horse to the water but you sure as hell can't force it to drink.
