    Armchair Pilots?

OK, everyone who answered this thread say "aye" if you fly an airplane or warbird, own an airplane or warbird, work on a airplane or warbird, used to work on an airplane or warbird, or crew'd for a raceplane or warbird.

Especially crew'd for a National Champion raceplane!!!

    AYE!!!!!!!!

Sorry about the coment boys just been frustrated with 99 different stories. Now I was told this plane was owned by Harvey Mace Whom I believe is passed away now from a fatel flight test in one of his racing birds. But there is a slide that Air-Britain has that I am trying to get that has the tail number and same paint job as does this plane. And its from 64 Air Races. They are giving me a hard time about getting a copy so I offered them a donation $$ for a digital image of the negative they have. Will post more when I know more. Thanks for the help.

Harvey Mace made the #41 "Shark". Bill Sklair was killed in this F-1 during the mid 1980's. Kind of a cool looking 'eliptical wing' racer, painted all gloss grey with a shark's mouth on the intake.

I think he also built #98 "Mr B" that Bud Pedigo raced....

I believe that was the Mace R-1

I think that ALL race pilots should be required to have Bud Pedigo's haircut.

Here is a interested story 4 years ago when i moved to Reno. I moved to a new location a new neighborhood didnt know anyone.

well one day walking home one of my neighbors had his garge door open and his Garge was filled with RC moldels well on his car he had a ramp sticker so i started talking to him.

He told me that he Raced Biplanes at the air races and he showed me all those moldels that he built his named is Fred Rechmacher and he raced EAA biplane number 22 in 1972.

really nice guy everytime i see him out side i talk to him he told me storyes about Don Beck and sid white,Bill Boland infact he bought bill's mong for a short time well got some nice neighbors now

                              all the best shawn

I forgot to give an AYE if working for Jimmy DeSanto (no pay) as a kid and sleeping overnite in his P38 while watching for the bad guys as there was a rumor that some race planes had their fuel tampered with. He didd't fire me but I did shoot down at least 57 German ME109's in my dreams.
