I all glad to be here. I am in the process of getting a Salvy Skyhopper project. I was told this plane was raced in the 60s and has sat since. I do not know the N number yet but will have some other paper work when I pick her up. It was de milled as they say wings tail feather engine were taken before it was given away or sold because the racer didnt want it in the hands of someone the might get killed flying it. I am right now just looking to see if there was a skyhopper that raced at all? I am thinking it might be true but then again it might of been built to race and never raced. Anyhow I am going to build it into a Formula racer but we will just see how it all goes in the process. Its going to be a good 2 years.

OK, I'll bite, what the heck is a Salvy Skyhopper? I have never seen one mentioned in any of the racing references I have from the 60's.

The guy who designed that is named Gene Salvay, I think.
Top speed with an 0-200 is probably about 130 to 140. Not sure if regulations even matter at that speed.Comment

Hi all this plane had a different wing and tail feathers than the kitbuilt and is listed as a racer thats all i know N7759C is the N number but I cant find the pilots name and it was not the first builder. Should be about 1965/66Comment

What info do you want? There has NEVER been a Skyhopper race in IF1 that I can recall- but I have only been going to Reno since 1971, I crew on a National Champion T-6, and I am building a Shoestring racer....
But what do I know.........and I hope I do see you on the flight line
