The Mustang formally known as "Dixie" is in the paint shop for a new suit of clothes.

Can't tell you what she will be............but she will be known.

Sorry Ash, the old man talked us into it, and also having the Mustang formally known as "SU SU II" hanging around the stable was just too much for the man!

She is looking purty now.

Base coat is on, Stars and Bars are almost finished, invasion stripes are mostly complete, spinner is red, and the red and yellow checkerboard behind the spinner looks great.

Got some pics in the camera and will post later. These could possibly be the last photos I will be able to post of her. Anything further would give away her identity.

They had all the paper off today..............next week will be wet sanding and getting ready to apply all of the detail placards.......................................... then the name.......................

Ash, actually kinda exciting to see new clothes on her. She will be going to Oshkosh. Kinda sad she did not make the trip in her old clothes. Your brother provided a great set of factory drawings for all of the placards..........thanks.

Well, she spent last week in Telluride, CO and saw the July 4th parade from above. She and Chris Woods "February" had a great time.

Here she is in her new clothes..............back in the paint shop getting all the little placards painted on this week. Then to Oshkosh!

Yes, "SU SU II" is the TF.

Yeager has been bugging us for the last two years to do this paint scheme. After two years of discussing this "issue" amongst ourselves and looking into the potential "problems" and then getting reassurances that there would not be any "problems", we went ahead and did the scheme.

Funny, alot of research went into this scheme, and it has shown that the other two previous GG III airplanes were not exactly as per the original. This one is pretty damn accurate.
