And hey, I would like to say that "I" was the one who introduced both Wayne and Mark K to 'the road'. I will say that the expression on both of their faces the first time we piled into the truck and bounced out there was 'what the hell are you getting us into?'. But when the first plane flew over....well....I think they 'got it' in a real hurry.

No fire truck for me...

But!

For about 5 or 6 years my dad would hand me off to one of RPDs motorcycle cops. He would pick me up down in the static display area, sit me on the gass tank, for a ride past the grand stands, and drop me off under Leftys P38 were I would camp out for the day.

Hows that for a ride?

I got to ride in the firetruck and my crew was really ecstatic. They almost seemed to enjoy it more than I did. It was a great way to give them some of the recognition they deserve for making it possible for me to be there.

I hope to get to ride it again in the future.

Yes, he is. I caught up with him late December. He still has the Cassutt. Not sure what his current plans are for racing in the future.
