  • Thunder Mustang(s) and PRS

During PRS there should be 4 flyable Thunder Mustangs at Reno (assuming everything comes together).

    John Parker's Blue Thunder
    Tom Gaston's Live Bait
    George Giboney's Rapid Travel
    Malcolm Thompson's Only in America

However, there are no plans for any to participate in PRS. The Mustangs will be at American Air Racing for a little pow-wow. There may be a little flying after PRS though....

That is the plan last I heard. I'm still hoping to get all four up for a little "work".

    So now you know.

Oh no, that just won't do, they should make some kind of rule.

                    Bill,

Did the quad Thunder become a reality?

Also, Has Bill Eveland brought his to Reno yet or is it still in California?

                    Thanks,

                    Lowell

All 4 TM's are in the American Air Racing hanger as I type... we JUST got done pushing them in. You'll have to wait `till tomorrow to see any pictures though, don't have enough time to take them then get `em posted tonight. Not really sure about the 4 ship formation... you'll have to wait a little longer to see if that one happens.

                        Re: Thunder Mustang(s) and PRS

                        Thanks for the update!

I hope Malcolm can get an air to air formation photo shoot with Miss America someday. That, and LIVE BAIT with Sal Rubino's Grim Reaper P-51D, N26PW.

Let's see that could be the July and August photos of a Thunder Mustang calender. Maybe a photoshop formation shot of the 1972 champion Roto Finish Special with Gunther's Thunder Mustang for September. You could even put his #7 F8F-1 in that one. Another photoshop duo could be George's "Rapid Travel" and Burnstine's 1974 Reno champion P-51D #33, Miss Suzi-Q.

Now that I think about it, this calender idea is beginning to have possibilities...

                              Hey Lowell,

As Steve said all four made it. Right now there are 5 TMs in John's hangar. I don't know where the "Commander's" TM is. Last I heard it was still in CA. I'll ask and see if anyone knows. It is ready to fly and has been for a while. I understand that there are other TMs ready to go but have not parted with mother earth.
