I am in vacation in Normandy this week and I came across this engine in a field.

To my untrained eye anyway, that looks like a Merlin. The cam drive on top of the wheelcase looks like a dead giveaway. From the shape of the blower section in the second pic, I'm guessing maybe a single stage engine from an early Spitfire, Lancaster, or maybe a Mosquito. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
