From the Bristol sleeve to Wright poppet valve
I seem to remember the "yellow brick road" as to why all? the sea furys have 3350s.
Basically a perfect fit replacement for a more usable poppet motor than the extinct sleeve valve parts not available any more.
Going back one further step.......
In the mid-80s, there was a purchase of 24? sea furys from the Iraq miulitary i believe.
I know it was a bulk-lot purchase with a group of investors ( was Mike Post one of thoes investors?).
Any history details where they all went to and buy whom and with what $$$ expendetures??
I do have a cassett tape from reno or the nut tree where i recorded Getchell's Bristol lighting off and run up...... who needs valve overlap!!
