Ah Django and his cohort Stephane Grapelli. If you've never heard Oscar Peterson & Stephane Grapelli live in Paris, it's on iTunes. If you like you jazz straight up, it's a classic. It's hard to go wrong with OP.

Just loaded a bunch of his neglected CDs onto the Ipod. Charlie's a hybrid. It's like, I'd like to play bass, I like guitar, and I REALLY dig the Hammond B-3. A screw it! I'll do all three!!! He's certainly not a novelty act. He plays really solid basslines beneath his guitar and faux B-3 music. A lot of fun to watch.

The guy is an animal on stage. Grunting and growling the whole time. Saw him at Big Ed's a couple of years ago and was fortunate enough to get the booth next to the stage. From 10ft. away it's awesome to watch him play that thing. He did a rendition of Little Wing that almost brought a tear to my eye. Almost.

And then you had to bring up the B-3. I'm sure we are all down with the Increadable Jimmy Smith but are we all down with Dr. Lonnie Smith? If Jimmy Smith is the Professor then Dr. Lonnie Smith is the Mad Scientist. If you don't have any of his stuff, check out Too Damn Hot. It's just that.

Eddie Jobson is one of my favorite musicians from the three U.K. albums. Awesome violinist and keyboardist.......along with Holdsworth and Bozzio WHAT A GROUP!!!!
