Posts made past 02:30PM 12/30/24 won't be on the new site!
We are in the final stages of resolving the issues with the forums move to the new location. After talking with tech support, the only solution was to send him a copy of all the images. This will take time - but we know the fix SO it's only a matter of time now.

Ayup Race 57's rudder is split. The bottom part kicks over to the right automatically when the flaps are extended to try to cope with the acres of P-factor.Jerry Beck II

The below link will give you a little history of the F2g & you can see from the photos & profiles which planes had the taller fin.
Interestingly:
The blue & white Corsair Race #74 does not have the taller fin & was also owned by Cook Clealand who owned Race #57. It(#74) was bought in 1953 by Walter Soplata & stored out in the open on his farm in Newbury, Oh. In 1997, the Western Reserve Hist. Society of Cleveland, Oh. purchased the aircraft & at the present time, the W.R. Hist. Society is having Robert Odegaard of Kindred, N. Dakota restore the aircraft for static display. It would sure be nice to see these 2 sisters gracing the pylons together after half a century. Oh well we can dream.
