Want to hear a real tragedy??? OK here goes. Please don't laugh; it's not funny.

I had the complete 30 minute-footage of the SR's 1989 (and only) airshow at OSH captured with my family's vid cam from the flightline. Then, a couple months later, i accidentally TAPED OVER IT WITH AN EPISODE OF AIRWOLF FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE AAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH. The pain is still so real, so very real.

I think I cried for 2 hours. I was only 13, but I should have been more careful. I am STILL very upset about it.

Who else votes that we beat Matt about the head and shoulders next year at Reno...

I might have it on my '89 tape. I'm converting all to DVD so if I get to it I'll see.
Before I continue the hijack, I still like the color version...
Wish I could remember the year they announcer broke in during a short dead period and announced "something" was in the pattern for Beale and was going to make a pass. Then the "Ladies and Gentlemen, your US Air Force SR-71".
As I remember it made one fast, low pass and was gone.
Does anyone remember one of the first B-1 demo's with a female pilot?
Lst pass she came by, layed that thing on it's side and climbed into the overcast. 50,000 fans chanting "roll it, roll it". THAT I do have on tape.
Sure has been great all these years, huh?

That was 1987, and I still have THAT ONE on tape somwhere. I am an SR-71 geek (self-qualified), but apparently not a VCR geek.

86 and 87 are the only years in 30 I have no pics and no video!
They were drive up-drive down, 1 day races for me.
I sure do miss the SR.

Ok, Victor asked for more contrast. I like this one a lot better. Maybe a tad dark. I can correct that. This is the green channel of the RGB image.
