P-51 Windvane - Check this out!

I was asked to do a windvane of a P-51D. Drew this one up and our shop made it today.

How much do you think something like this be worth if we ever decided to sell them?

It is about 12 inches long and this particular one is made of stainless steel.

Well, first.....you'd need to ask Chuck Yeager if it would be ok to honor his plane like that. Then figure in his royalties!

For fun I have already drawn up September Fury, Rare Bear and Strega. Numbers and details such as flames on SF are shown as cut-outs.

I would not sell them without permission, but they do look pretty cool.

I can do any airframe profile. I will talk to the boss and see if he wants to "branch" out from just airplane parts.

Our Mustang is painted in CY's colors at the request of CY. It caused one heck of a thread here awhile back when I posted pictures.

Let's not go back there.

A guy was selling something similar at the air races this year, over by the control tower. They started at 60 bucks and went up into the high 100's according to size and paint scheme...........

Whatever I draw in CAD is what the abrasive waterjet machine cuts.

The detail is fantastic. Was his waterjet cut (minute detail?) or something else?

My sister gave me a P-51 weather vane about two years ago. It is identical in every way (even the goofy propeller is the same), however, it does not have the graphics. If you want to see a photo of it, let me know and I'll post one.

Yeah, seen those. They look like junk compared to these. I will get a picture up this weekend of the ones I have finished.
