Re: Hot News Day! - Critical Mass Will Return To Stock
I was speaking with a friend of mine about this very scenario. The powerplant of Critical Mass was really the most valuable asset of the racer. No disrespect to the Dwelle family, but the Sea Fury had been modified to the extent the airframe simply does not hold much value as is. Great news for everyone involved with this. Rare Bear obtains a very strong and healthy race motor, and the better news is the decision by the Dwelle's to restore the Sea Fury to stock flying condition. I welcome and applaud their efforts to restore Critical Mass. Yes, we lose a heart pounding unlimited racer, but we gain two racers from this decision. A winning combination for air racing. I just hope that once the Sea Fury is finished they are more selective on the paint scheme and don't turn the aircraft into the PIMPED UP, PSYCHODELIC INDUCED, WHAT THE HELL IS IT paint scheme that turned a nice Sea Fury into a drag queen. Please , oh please, we beg you. Don't do that.
This is great news, and I look forward to seeing the Dwelle's back on the race course again. They have been away for far too long.
